Thomas Donchatz Obituary

Thomas Ray Donchatz, 62 of Marion SC passed away suddenly on November 26, 2022. He is survived by his wife of forty-one years Abby Donchatz, his daughter Michaela Donchatz and stepson Allen Shrewsbury, also two siblings brother Ernest Donchatz and sister Mary Jane Kennedy. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest "Mule" Donchatz and Hazel Donchatz of Anawalt West Virginia. Born in Welch, WV in 1960, he went on to serve as mayor of Anawalt in 1989. For thirty-nine years he was employed by the McDowell and Mercer County School Boards. He was a loving husband and father. His wishes were to be cremated and have his remains scattered in the mountains and at sea. There will be no memorial service.

Mr. Donchatz is entrusted to the care of Kelvin F. Lewis, Funeral Director, and Lewis Crematory & Funeral Services of Myrtle Beach, SC.
