Lois Ennis Obituary

Lois Messer Ennis, 80, of North Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away April 3, 2022 while recovering from a recent surgery.

Born July 15, 1941 to the late Dallas and Lessie Messer, Lois grew up in Coats, NC and graduated from Coats High School in 1959. She had a long and successful career working for the State of North Carolina until her retirement in 1994.

Lois was a devoted and loving mother to her only son Randy, his wife Liz and two grandsons Barrett and Graham Ennis of Raleigh, NC. She was also blessed with three step children Michael Harris and Jackie Harris of Myrtle Beach, granddaughters Sunny, Skylar and August Kennerly and Kristy Morris, husband Kevin Morris and granddaughter Morgan Edwards of Charlotte, NC.

In 2006 she married Rick Harris and the two enjoyed socializing with their tight knit community of friends. Always meticulously dressed, Lois loved shopping, dining out and dancing. Her kind heart and generous spirit with be missed by friends and family across the Carolinas.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers Winfred and Buddy Messer and sister Goldie Powell.

She is further survived by her siblings Hilda Tyndall and Louise Rossman of Raleigh, NC and Billy Messer of Coats, NC.

A Celebration of Life will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Lung Association in Lois’ honor.
