JoAnne McGinnelly

JoAnne McGinnelly, 53 of Myrtle Beach, SC was taken home in Jesus 's arms on January 7th 2021.  She was born in the Bronx, NY on January 30th 1967. As a child she then moved to Milford, CT where she made many lifetime friends.  She later relocated to Myrtle Beach to be close to her daughters and grandchildren. 

She was a true friend to countless people.  She had an unforgettable laugh and sense of humor.  She worked most of her life as a waitress and had several regular customers.  She most recently worked at Friendly's and also worked at Food Lion.  She was very active and didn't mind walking to wherever she needed to be.  Her favorite thing to do on her day off was to cook dinner for her family.  She had a very special relationship with her three grandchildren,  Kaiyah, Corban and Kennadi.  She spent every spare moment that she had with them. 

She was predeceased by her Father William J. McGinnelly as well as her Son in law Kenneth Poland.   She had a very special bond with each of them.

She is survived by her Mother Joan McGinnelly of Myrtle Beach,  SC; Her daughters Allison Poland(Steven) and Stephanie McGinnelly(Jordan) also of Myrtle Beach, SC; her grandchildren Kaiyah Eagles, Corban Poland and Kennadi Eagles of Myrtle Beach,  SC; her sisters Donna McGinnelly(Billy) of Wallingford, CT, Kelly Brzoska of Myrtle Beach, SC and Michelle Kirst(Zack) of Longs, SC; Her niece Jennifer Brzoska(Ben) of Conway, SC; her nephews Joseph Brzoska of New Haven, CT and Ronan Kirst and Deacon Kirst of Longs, SC.

A memorial mass will be held in her honor on January 20th at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Star Of The Sea Catholic Church which is located at 1100 8th Avenue North,  North Myrtle Beach,  SC 29582.  In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Ronald McDonald House at https://www.rmhcharleston.org/rmhc-donate/?BBFund=40&BBHideOtherFunds=1.

Ms. McGinnelly is entrusted to the care of Lewis Crematory and Funeral Services, Myrtle Beach, SC.
