James William Padfield, Jr., Age 83 passed away on February 7, 2021 at his residence in Myrtle Beach, SC after a long illness.
Formerly of Cumberland MD, is preceded in death by his parents, James W Padfield, Sr. and Clara Mae (Fisher) Padfield and a nephew Fred Fuller of Cumberland, MD.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years Bettie (Ritchie) Padfield, a son Lance Padfield, South San Francisco, CA, a daughter Courtenay (Padfield) Hussion, Ghent, WV, grandchildren, Brandon and Madison Hussion, Ghent, WV, sister Patrice Fuller, Cumberland, MD, brother Edward Padfield (Wilma), Ridgeley, WV, Nephew Jimmy Fuller and niece Tina Padfield.
Jim graduated from Fort Hill High School in 1955, he went on to serve 10 years in the USAF as an air traffic controller. He retired from the US Postal Service (Cumberland, MD) of 29 years as a letter carrier. After his retirement, he enjoyed the last 16 years in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Jim was an avid bowler, golfer and enjoyed his Wednesday Night Poker games with friends. He was also a cat lover and had many pets thru the years. He was so proud of his grandchildren and loved every moment he spent with them.
Per his wishes he will be cremated and a private service will be held at a later date at the Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery in Cumberland, MD.
