George Alford Adams, III

George Alford Adams III passed away at his home Saturday, July 4th, 2020 with his loving family by his side. George was the husband of Phyllis Adams. They shared 55 wonderful years together.  Born in Columbia South Carolina he was the son of George Alford Adams, JR and Mary Elizabeth Adams. He attended South Carolina School for the Deaf and Gallaudet University.

George spent many years being an advocate for the deaf in South Carolina. He was very passionate for deaf rights in South Carolina. He will never be forgotten for his smile and love for everyone he met. He was a member of Ocean View Baptist Deaf Ministry.

He is survived by his loving wife Phyllis Adams: son George Alford Adams IV.; daughters, Melinda Katherine Watts (Jeff),  Kristaine Marie Lane (Johnny); grandchildren: James Daniel Brown, Samanatha Nicole Brown, Payton Andrew Donald Belanger, Kinsley Marie Lane; great-grandchildren: Ryleigh Peyton Smith, Emily Grace Brown, Ethan Drake Fowler, Bentley John-Luke Brown. One Sister, Mickie Elizabeth Adams (Beth) and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his English Bulldog Fenway that he loved dearly.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 10th, 2020 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at Lewis Crematory.

A Memorial Service will be held July 11th, 2020 at 12:00 Noon at Lewis Crematory.
