Brett Watson Hollembaek, age 53, of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away November 6th 2021, at South Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Brett is survived by his two daughters; Megan Hollembaek of Morrisville, NC and Emalee Hollembaek of Myrtle Beach, SC; his partner Lisa Fries of Myrtle Beach, SC; two step children; Coreen(Todd) Georgiev and Brian Fries of Myrtle Beach, SC; two sisters; Elizabeth (Matthew) Daley of Waddington, NY and Mary(James) McGuire of Sandy Creek, NY and one brother, Robert(Natalie Ray) Hollembaek of Bonita Springs, FL. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews; Kristian and Victoria Daley, Ryan and Grace McGuire, Riley, Lauren, and Ashley Hollembaek and two grandchildren; Mason and Kaylee. He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Isabelle Hollembaek.
Brett was born on October 28th, 1968 in Ogdensburg, NY. The son of Robert E. Hollembaek and Isabelle Watson Hollembaek. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1986. He went on to Keystone Community College located in La Plume, PA. He then went on to Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree. After college he worked for the Federal Bureau Prisons in Savannah, Georgia. Brett later returned to Myrtle Beach, SC where he worked and lived until the date of his death.
Brett loved spending time with his family and his dogs. He loved and knew everything about sports. He enjoyed watching his favorite teams; the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Mets, and Syracuse basketball. He also enjoyed walking and working in his yard.
Brett was best known for his contagious smile and his willingness to help others. He had a heart of gold and was always there for his friends and family in times of need. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on Saturday, November 20th at 11:00 am. Inurnment will be in Ogdensburg, NY at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be named in Brett’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 3810
