LeRoy Russell Rinehimer passed away peacefully, on Sunday December 15, in his home in Myrtle Beach, SC. LeRoy and his wife Marion raised their family in Newark, DE and later moved to Bear, De, before retiring to Myrtle Beach in 1997.
LeRoy was born in Slocum, PA to the late Russell & Laura (Eckrote) Rinehimer. LeRoy met the love of his life, Marion and they were married on June 14, 1949 and celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year. LeRoy served in the Navy and was a WWII veteran, serving on USS Sarsi. As a young married man, he was a lumberman and built his first home in Slocum, PA.
He moved his family to Delaware in 1961, and owned and operated both an Atlantic Service Station and then Car Body Shop. He was a member of St. Phillips Lutheran Church and also a Member of the Optimist International Club and enjoyed bowling and golf. Always the life of the party, he enjoyed his family and friends, and was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Along with his parents he was predeceded in death by his sister Marie Mylet, brother Alvin Rinehimer, daughter Linda Muto, and grandson Andrew Deramo. LeRoy is survived by his wife Marion Irene (Keller), daughter Terry LaRock and her husband Mark of The Villages, FL, daughter Wanda Louhoff and her husband Rodney of Myrtle Beach, SC, his son-in -law, Malcolm Muto, of Bear, DE, 4 granddaughters, Melanie Markel (Robert), Danielle Weber (Steve) and Brittany Bronk (Ebon), 4 great grandchildren, Brianna, Brandon, Collin and Taylor and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in Delaware at a future date to be determined.
Mr. Rinehimer is entrusted to the care of Lewis Crematory and Funeral Services, Myrtle Beach, SC.
